Raised in a family generations-deep in the business of real estate development, commercial construction, and sales, Aleksandra K. Jako has had a lifetime of dedicated service to the Chicagoland real estate industry. Her experience in real estate law began early on as a high school student working for the family’s transactional and litigation attorneys. At 18, Ms. Jako became a licensed Realtor where she learned the anatomy of a real estate transaction from inception to post-closing while also working full time as a law clerk for Attorney Aaron Spivack, gaining invaluable experience from a highly respected and well-established Chicago real estate lawyer.
Once sworn in to the Illinois Bar, Ms. Jako was able to establish her practice immediately due to her extensive work experience participating and observing thousands of closings under Mr. Spivack’s supervision while also maintaining her real estate sales. She primarily focuses her law practice on the representation of Buyers and Sellers in purchases and sales, as as well as corporate clients in business entity formation, dissolution, general compliance maintenance, and joint venture agreements. Ms. Jako works with her clients beyond the closings with their estate planning needs by drafting land trusts, quit claim deeds, powers of attorney, and wills. She serves as legal representative for contractors in mechanic’s liens and other construction-related disputes. She also serves as general counsel for several trucking and logistics companies.
Aleksandra Jako strives for perfection for her clients. She proudly holds memberships with the Chicago Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, the Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association and the Serbian Bar Association of America where she was the recipient of the 2014 Past-President’s Scholarship Award. She volunteers her knowledge at speaking events for real estate related and not-for-profit organizations where the public learns about basic real estate ownership issues.
